Grof developed the psychotherapeutic technique of holotropic breathwork, which leads to a special, expanded state of consciousness.
Based on extensive clinical data, Grof offers a brilliant synthesis of psychology and religion. He created an extended mapping of the psyche, emphasizing the possibility of transpersonal / spiritual experiences for anyone.
Stanislav Grof has shown that many conditions that are characterized by doctors as psychoses and are treated with medication are actually crises of spiritual growth.
Stanislav Grof's ex-wife, Kristina Grof, died on June 15, 2014 after a long illness. Since April 1, 2016, Stanislav is married to psychologist Brigita Grof. They live in the United States and Germany and travel around the world conducting holotropic breathwork sessions, lectures, and seminars.
