Jack Kornfield
Jack Kornfield is a well-known American author, psychotherapist, master of meditation, vipassana and popularizer of Buddhism. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1967, Jack joined the Peace Corps and was assigned by the State Health Service to northeast Thailand, which is home to several of the world's oldest forest Buddhist monasteries. Here Jack met the Buddhist master Ayan Chap, who became his teacher for many years.

Since 1974, he has taught meditation around the world and is one of the key teachers who teach the practice of Buddhist awareness in the West. In 1975, he co-founded the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts.with Sharon Salzberg and Joseph Goldstein , and then in 1987 at the Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, California, where he now lives and teaches. Jack has worked as a peacemaker and activist, organizing training sessions for teachers, and leading international gatherings of Buddhist teachers, including the Dalai Lama.
His books include In Search of a Wise Heart, Stories of the Spirit, Stories of the Heart, the national bestseller Path with a Heart, and a large number of audio cassettes on meditation and dharma.
